The GeoCV software is designed for tablets and smartphones with 3D sensors that measure distance to a surface by each pixel of its frame. Such mobile devices are already available to developers, e.g., Google Project Tango and Intel RealSense. GeoCV algorithms automatically join video frames and values measured by the 3D sensor into a 3D model.
In January 2015, Starta Capital Investment Company and Moscow Seed Fund invested RUR 6M into GeoCV. The startup obtained RUR 2M from Starta Capital and RUR 4M more from Moscow Seed Fund in the form of a loan.
The main rivals of GeoCV are several American startups, such as Matterport and Occipital that have lately attracted $30M and $13M in financing, respectively.
