GoTech contest is about to include a separate nomination for IT startup projects aimed at global market and solving a universal problem of users or business. Winning projects will receive an invitation to participate in the acceleration program with Google expert team and get support for development in the international market.
Selection criteria:
- Growing industry with fast scaling opportunity: SaaS in B2C or B2B, games, dating, travel, education etc.;
- Global market: the project shall be vast international market oriented and based on a global promotion strategy;
- Universal problem solution for users or business, i.e. the problem shall be unattached to a specific geographical location or infrastructure;
- Team with entrepreneurial proficiency.
Applications are being received at www.gotech.vc. Shortlisted participants will be invited to meet with Google export team at GoToMarket forum on October 6. Based on the meetings outcome, participants of the acceleration program will be selected.
The selection program was first launched last year. The winner was MyDiaspora project, a traditional oriental dating service based on Muslim religious precepts. The project took part in the Google Launchpad Week acceleration program in January 2016 in Tel Aviv.
‘Winning a Google nomination is more than prize money. The victory opens a lot of doors; investors treat your project with more attention. Google team is highly responsive and supporting. You end up feeling adopted by the team’, says Arsen Kazibekov, founder of MyDiaspora company, along the lines of sharing acceleration program participation experience.
GoTech 2016 comprises 2 generic nominations: Successful Business and Breakthrough Technology, and several programs in collaboration with contest partners. Along with the Google-based nomination, Kaspersky Lab (Next Generation Security), ЕМС (Big Data & IoT) and the Untitled retail lab foundation (Retail Performance) have announced their project selection programs. GoTech partners are also Intel, ITMO University and Moscow Exchange.
